Worcester has had a Cathedral since the 7th Century and construction of the current building was begun in 1084 under the stewardship of Saint Wulfstan. During the English Civil Wars the Cathedral was badly damaged and there has been a number of subsequent restoration projects, the most recent of which began in 1988 and is ongoing to this day. Worcester Cathedral has been described as one of the most architecturally interesting Cathedrals in England and rises majestically above the River Severn.
Worcester Cathedral is wheelchair accessible throughout except for the tower, library and crypt.
Parking is available at a number of city centre car parks, just a few minutes walk from the Cathedral.
